The José Zanine Caldas Institute is an initiative of the union of the architect and designer’s three children: José Zanine Caldas Filho, Déa Dórea Zanine Caldas and Zanini de Zanine Caldas. Its main goal is to protect the artist’s work and to make the collection with information, documents and images officially available to students and researchers from all over the world, contributing to research in the areas of architecture, design, sustainability and also brazilian material construction, keeping Zanine’s projectual knowledge alive.
Among other objectives, there is the construction and preservation of the artistic memory of an era that reflects and influences the community in various ways to this day.
To gather, catalog and preserve the entire collection: scale models, blueprints, slides, photographs, furniture, filme negatives, correspondence and clipping.
Attest pieces produced by Zanine throughout his life, which are submitted by those who’d like to guarantee the origin of the pieces. This “glance” is due to a recent appearance of pieces attributed to the author in the market, which are fake.
Assist the global art market by assuring the authenticity of furniture of his own.
The validation of objects and works of art linked to the artist is done through an on-site analysis and transmitted to a technical committee, made up of specialists that are associated with the Institute.
